Frameless mirrors are popular not only among minimalism enthusiasts. This solution allows a bathroom mirror to be hung in virtually any room. This means that when changing the bathroom design, you can use the hanging mirror in any other place and it will definitely look good there. The only issue might be how to hang a frameless mirror yourself, as the frame usually contains the appropriate mounts for attaching it to the wall.

Hang a Frameless Bathroom Mirror by Yourself

Mounting a frameless mirror doesn't have to be troublesome, nor does it require drilling holes in the wall. This way, you can hang it directly on surfaces like ceramic tiles adorning the room's walls. There are several different methods for attaching mirrors to the wall, and the one you choose mainly depends on the size, and hence the weight, of the mirror.

The simplest solution, but not very durable, is using stickers covered with a mirrored coating. Simply clean the wall of dust and you can start attaching light mirrored stickers to the tile surface. More often, however, we choose a traditional, frameless glass mirror. If you want to avoid drilling holes in the wall, you can follow our tips. Positioning the Mirror Pane in the Bathroom

The first step must be deciding where the new frameless mirror will hang. Next, make precise measurements and ensure that the pane fits there without any problems. A significant advantage of hanging frameless mirrors is that they can be custom ordered in any size and can take on various shapes. This way, you can utilize an awkward alcove or a sloped wall section.

If you know where you want to hang the frameless mirror, you must place it in the correct position. If it's a mirror above the sink, it should not hang lower than 20 cm from the edge of the sink. A large frameless mirror is best hung so that its bottom edge is at least 1.2 meters from the floor. Meanwhile, the upper edge should not exceed the top edge of the doorframe. This will give the room the right proportions.

What to Use for Mounting Frameless Mirrors?

The simplest method of mounting a mirror is wall plugs, but since we are excluding drilling, let's opt for other solutions. A good idea is to use assembly adhesive, which should be evenly spread on the back surface of the mirror. Make sure the adhesive is suitable for hanging mirrors – it should be thick, strong, and quick-drying. Simply apply the mirror to the wall and wait a moment. Remember that when applying adhesive to the mirror, it should not be applied close to the edges, otherwise it might seep out when pressing the mirror against the wall, creating unsightly streaks.

Another method, although not very popular, is mounting tapes. Double-sided tape can be used in rooms exposed to high humidity, and its removal is much easier than when mounting with adhesive. The tape is applied to the back of the mirror, and then the pane is pressed against the wall. Quick and clean, and manufacturers of tapes claim they can hold up to 6 kg. This allows for the installation of a simple medium-sized mirror in the bathroom.

An interesting way to hang a mirror without drilling is self-adhesive screws. This modern alternative is gaining popularity. Depending on the type of screws selected, mounting elements like strips or adhesive mass will be used. Screws are a great way to non-invasively hang a mirror.
